How much will insurance be on a motorcycle for a 18 year old?

My friend wanted to know. Its a 600cc bike && we live in North Carolina. Can anyone give me an estimate of how much he could be paying for insurance?

  1. it will be alot, make sure he has enough to take you out.
  2. It really depends on his driving record and experience. I have 4 years riding experience and a clean record. My insurance is $800 (full coverage) a year on a 2007 FZ1 1000cc sport bike. If the 600cc is a cruiser the insurance will be less than on a sportbike of the same size. PS. I'm in eastern North Carolina. And I check the price each year the policy comes due and Progressive has given me the best price 4 years in a row
  3. Like in your situation,I would like to advise you have a look here http://www.InsuranceFreeTip.info/insurance-for-free.htm
  4. It's probably going to be a little more expensive because he will be considered a "youthful driver". It will also depend on his driving record and the make, model & year of the bike - as well as if it's financed or not. I'd suggest getting a quote with Progressive (NO, I don't work for them! - but I work for an agency, and I have my personal auto insurance through Progressive - they have the best pricing).
  5. That's too general a question since rates are different from county to county and coverages vary. Call a local agent for a quote and make sure you understand what coverage you're getting. Be sure you buy medical coverage and uninsured motorist coverage. Remember, accidents are usually not the cycle's fault so you have to be prepared to cover yourself in case the person that hits you doesn't have any insurance or doesn't have enough. In the event it's your fault or just your vehicle involved there won't be anyone else to collect from so you need to be sure you have the coverage you need either way. You should also look into buying life, disability and long-term care coverage.
