Can your internet connection be hooked up without using a landline phone?
I want to get ride of my landline. Do I need it to hook up my internet? If not, how do I hook up the internet without a landline?

- If you're in the uk, you could change to a service like virgin media (cable) where you don't need a phone line. Most operators use BT for broadband though, and they make you have a phone whether you need it or not.
- if you have a labtop you can get an internet card from sprint or if you have a verizion phone you can get internet service that way too
- you could also get stand alone dsl if it is available in your area
- Technically, yes, you can get DSL on a phone line without telephone service. However, some places just don't allow it.
- Cable modem.
- 1- dry loop DSL (dsl with out a phone line) 2- cable modem 3- cellular (EVDO for CDMA, or HSPDA for GSM) 4- fixed wireless such as Wi-MAX (in limited areas) 5- satellite
- If your area is not serviced by Cable and phone lines then may be try to connect by WIFI. But to answer your question, No you do not have to have a phone number to use the internet from a phone co. But Internet service comes via Cable or Phone lines the only other means is to connect over the Air (WIFI)
